Casner & Edwards’ Michael J. Goldberg, a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice, co-chaired MCLE’s 2014 New England Bankruptcy Law Conference. The conference, featuring eight bankruptcy judges from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts as well as bankruptcy practitioners, is MCLE’s premier bankruptcy offering.
In addition to his co-chair duties, Goldberg moderated a panel of judges discussing ethics, including limited representation engagements and the “unbundling” of bankruptcy legal services. Casner’s David Koha contributed an article on conflicts in multiple debtor cases to the conference materials.
Goldberg specializes in the areas of business bankruptcy, financial restructuring and business transactions as well as commercial real estate transactions. In his over 25 years of practice, Goldberg has represented a broad spectrum of clients in insolvency matters, including debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, assignees, landlords, secured and unsecured creditors, and investors.
Koha focuses his practice on business and consumer bankruptcy law, including bankruptcy litigation and appeals. He has experience in all types of business and consumer cases, including representing trustees, debtors, creditors, and defendants in fraudulent transfer and preference litigation.
The attorneys in Casner & Edwards’ Bankruptcy & Restructuring practice focus on middle-market businesses, families and individuals, and represent the complete range of parties in the debtor/creditor relationship.
Goldberg’s co-chairs for the conference were Paul W. Carey, III, of Mirick O’Connell; Pamela A. Harbeson of Looney & Grossman, LLP; and Prof. Ingrid M. Hillinger of Boston College Law School.
