Casner & Edwards attorneys Steven Ayr and Joel Kinney participated in the Fairmount Innovation Lab’s (FIL) Launchpad Pitch Night and Celebration, February 26 in Boston, MA. Ayr mentored participating entrepreneurs and Kinney served as a program judge.
Ayr has served the small business, startup and artist communities since launching his own practice in 2009, and as Business Counsel at startup-focused law firm Fort Point Legal P.C. He has experience structuring organizations from formation to dissolution, negotiating, drafting and revising the contracts that make businesses tick, and litigating disputes when relationships break down. Ayr serves on the MBA’s Media, Education and Technology Committees, and on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyers Division.
Kinney is the founder of Fort Point Legal P.C. and specializes in emerging growth companies, providing counsel through all stages of their development. Working closely with clients to provide collaborative and cost-effective legal solutions, Kinney represents businesses on a wide range of matters, including financing, licensing, leasing, employment, contract negotiations and the purchase and disposition of business assets.
FIL supports creative and social entrepreneurs in Massachusetts through a 12-week accelerator program for early stage creative and social impact companies, co-working space, pop-up partnerships and a maker space. The Launchpad program provides select participants with peer-to-peer learning, mentorship and access to a variety of subject matter experts and entrepreneurs.
