Oliver F. Ames, Jr. and Anita S. Lichtblau, attorneys in Casner & Edwards’ Nonprofit Practice Group, served as co-authors on the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education’s (MCLE) Massachusetts Nonprofit Organizations guide. Ames, contributed to Chapter 10: Limitations on Lobbying and Political Activities. Lichtblau contributed to Chapter 4: Preparing IRS Forms 1023, 1023-EZ, and 1024.

Ames is a partner whose practice is concentrated in the areas of trusts & estates and exempt organizations. His practice focuses on estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable giving and private foundation matters. In addition to having extensive experience with probate law and gift and estate tax issues, Ames frequently handles real estate and corporate matters as they relate to clients' estate planning needs.
Lichtblau advises nonprofit organizations on wide variety of legal issues, including formation of organizations and application for tax-exempt status, maintenance of tax-exempt status, governance, lobbying and political activity, creation of corporate policies, employment matters, and government and private grants and contracts. Lichtblau is co-chair of the Education Committee of the Tax-Exempt Organization Section of the BBA and a member of the Section’s Chapter 180 Working Group. She is also a member of the BBA Tax-Exempt Organization Steering Committee.
