Casner & Edwards attorney Katie Von Kohorn was named an Accredited Estate Planner® (AEP®) designee by National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC). The AEP® designation is a graduate level specialization in estate planning, obtained in addition to already recognized professional credentials within the various disciplines of estate planning. It is awarded by NAEPC to recognize estate planning professionals who meet stringent requirements of experience, knowledge, education, professional reputation and character, and who commit to the team concept of estate planning. Von Kohorn will receive her AEP® certificate at the Boston Estate Planning Council’s 2019 Annual Gala on May 22, 2019.
Von Kohorn specializes in trusts and estates and exempt organizations, focusing on estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable giving and advising exempt organizations. She advises individual clients and generations of families with respect to estate planning, including estate and gift taxes, probate law, estate and trust administration, inter-generational planning, planning with digital assets and philanthropy. Von Kohorn serves as trustee of numerous trusts and works extensively on the investment, tax and legal aspects of trusts. She counsels trustees and exempt organizations on issues pertaining to tax exemption, fiduciary responsibilities and charitable trust law.
NAEPC is a national organization of professional estate planners and affiliated local estate planning councils focused on establishing and monitoring the highest professional and educational standards. The AEP® designation is available to actively practicing attorneys among other trust and estate disciplines.
