Casner & Edwards Attorney John T. Morrier to Speak at Boston Bar Association’s 29th Annual Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Conference
Casner & Edwards’ attorney John T. Morrier will speak at the Boston Bar Association’s (BBA) 29th Annual Bankruptcy Bench Meets Bar Conference, May 22, 2019, in Boston, MA. Morrier will serve as a panelist on, “Issues Arising in Church and Other Non-Profit Entity Bankruptcy Cases.”
Morrier is Casner & Edwards’ Managing Partner and a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice. Representing nonprofits, including in the healthcare, education, and human services fields, is a Casner & Edwards specialty, and that includes helping them through financial difficulties. “Nonprofits are a special type of entity, and when they run into financial issues, special rules apply and unique tools are available,” said Morrier.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of bankruptcy and commercial law, including litigation in federal and state courts and structuring and documenting complex transactions. He represents debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, trustees and receivers, executives, landlords, suppliers and other parties in bankruptcy proceedings and out of court restructurings, workouts and other insolvency matters.
