Casner & Edwards Attorney Joanne E. Romanow Receives 2021 “Top Women of Law” Honor from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly
Boston law firm Casner & Edwards LLP announces that partner Joanne E. Romanow has been named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2021 “Top Women of Law” list. This highly coveted honor celebrates the exceptional accomplishments of women attorneys as leaders, educators, and mentors, and for their pro bono, social justice, advocacy, and business efforts. Romanow and fellow award recipients will be honored at a reception on November 17, 2021, at the Marriott Copley Place Hotel. Romanow joins Casner colleagues, Sharon C. Lincoln, Katie L.S. Von Kohorn, Lynne F. Riley and Renee Inomata who have received this honor in previous years.
Romanow handles high-conflict disputes in family law. Her practice encompasses all aspects of domestic relations and probate litigation, including divorce, custody, modification, child support, paternity, guardianship, and will contests. Joanne handles a variety of litigation involving asset division, complex business valuation, inheritances, custody disputes, domestic violence and non-traditional family structure. She has been appointed as a guardian ad litem by the Probate and Family Court and regularly serves as parent coordinator in high conflict cases. She has also acted as a mediator and conciliator in domestic relations matters.
Outside the office, Romanow sits on the Board of the MA Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), and serves as a Massachusetts liaison to the AFCC Chapter Council. She is also a volunteer conciliator for the Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Middlesex Probate and Family Courts. Romanow belongs to Massachusetts Association of Guardians Ad Litem (MAGAL), a professional organization of mental health professionals, attorneys, family service officers, judges, and academics who work in and with the Probate and Family Courts that are charged with resolving disputes over the custody of children.
