Boston law firm Casner & Edwards, LLP is pleased to announce that Brian M. Haney has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation and Employment Groups. Haney focuses his practice on complex business litigation, employment litigation and counseling, internal investigations, hospitality industry issues, and outdoor advertising and alcoholic beverage and entertainment licensing matters. He represents closely-held businesses and their shareholders, publicly traded corporations, restaurants and hospitality establishments, and senior executives and other professionals. Haney also serves as outside general counsel to his clients by advising on matters such as complex corporate formation and governance issues, lease negotiations, and licensing agreements.

Haney brings to the firm extensive experience in the commercial litigation arena, having assisted clients through shareholder disputes, trademark litigation, commercial real estate litigation, and a variety of commercial contract disputes. Haney’s experience as a trial lawyer for his clients has included obtaining verdicts on their behalf, multi-million dollar arbitration awards, summary judgment and preliminary injunctive relief, and successful appellate results. In the field of employment law, Haney regularly negotiates and drafts employment and separation agreements, advises both management and senior level employees on non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and litigates harassment, discrimination, and wage and hour claims. Haney also regularly conducts seminars and training sessions to educate and update managerial and supervisory personnel on various facets of employment law.
Haney’s broad spectrum of experience includes having practiced at the first litigation boutique in Boston and proudly serving as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court.
Haney has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer” by Massachusetts Super Lawyers each year since 2016, and was previously recognized as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” Haney earned his J.D. (cum laude) from Suffolk University Law School and his B.A. from the University of Vermont.
