SANDY TARRANT is a partner in the Nonprofit Organizations Law practice of Casner & Edwards, LLP, which provides comprehensive legal advice to tax exempt organizations, businesses and individuals working on nonprofit issues. Sandy specializes in advising on corporate matters from formation to dissolution, including mergers and other business transactions, compliance, financing, tax exempt bonds, tax exemption, philanthropy, governance and fundraising.
Prior to joining Casner & Edwards in 2004, Sandy was an associate in the Corporate and Public Finance practices at the Boston law firm Mintz Levin. Before law school, she worked in varying capacities for nonprofit and political organizations around New England.
In 2009, Sandy took a professional leave from the firm to teach at Boston College Law School as a Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor and Visiting Director of the nonprofit and transactional Community Enterprise Clinic at BC Law’s Legal Assistance Bureau. She continues to serve as an adviser and teacher to the Community Enterprise Clinic.
Sandy is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School, a B.A. from Boston College and completed the Graduate Program for Women in Politics and Government.
