Successful defense of an elected councilor-at-large

Haskell A. Kassler and Donna M. Brewer represented an elected councilor-at-large in a city-wide recount initiated by the losing incumbent. The recount confirmed the councilor’s election and Mr. Kassler and Ms. Brewer successfully convinced the city election board that the city did not need to undertake an expensive and time-consuming hearing on the qualifications of certain voters to vote by absentee ballot.
