John T. Morrier is a panelist for the MCLE's 3rd Annual Family and Closely Held Business Law Conference 2010. John is speaking on Banking, Bankruptcy, and Liquidity Issues and the challenges presented to bankers and the small companies to whom they lend in the current economic climate.

Donna M. Brewer returned as a panelist for the Municipal Law Conference 2010, co-sponsored by MCLE and the City Solicitors and Town Counsel Association. As she has in prior years, Donna summarized pending appellate cases of potentially broad municipal interest and discussed some of the potential effects on municipal practice depending on the cases' outcomes.

Marc E. Fitzgerald recently spoke before the Senate and House Judiciary Committee at the State House in Boston on legislation related to alimony reform.
Mr. Fitzgerald will also be hosting a panel on Federal Taxation issues in family law on November 7, 2009 at the annual Massachusetts Family Law Conference located at the Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham, Massachusetts.

- At the MCLE Nonprofit Law Conference 2009, Robert E. Cowden III gave a presentation on "Endowments in a Troubled Economy" and Richard C. Allen and Sandy Tarrant gave a presentation on "Related Party Transactions and Conflicts of Interest." [March 25, 2009]
- Robert E. Cowden gave a presentation on "UPMIFA and Endowments in the Current Market" at a meeting of the Boston Bar Association Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee. [February 2009]
- Donna M. Brewer was a panelist of the 2009 Municipal Law Conference, sponsored by MCLE and the Town Counsel and City Solicitors Association. With co-panelist chief staff counsel for the justices of the Supreme Judicial Court, Donna highlighted and commented upon cases on the 2009 SJC docket of interest to municipal counsel. Donna is a member of the Town Counsel and City Solicitors Association and town counsel for Hamilton.
- Robert E. Cowden III and Richard C. Allen gave a workshop on "Top Ten Legal & Accounting Developments" at the Massachusetts Council of Human Service Providers Convention and Expo.
- At the MCLE Charitable Giving Conference, Richard C. Allen gave a presentation on "Representing Nonprofits as Donation Recipients."
- Richard C. Allen chaired a panel on "Charity Self-Regulation: Standard Setting Bodies, and Other Options" at the 2008 national conference of the American Bar Association Tax Section's Exempt Organization Sub-Section in Washington D.C.
- David J. Chavolla and Gary L. Kemp gave a joint presentation on "Record Retention In An Electronic Age" to members of the New England Corporate Counsel Association. The presentation covered issues and recent developments affecting the preservation of electronic documents as part of a document and record management policy.
