Corporate and Technology Matters
Stanley Cygelman is a Partner in the Business Law Practice Group.
Stan Cygelman concentrates his practice in the corporate/securities and intellectual property areas. His thirty years of in-house and private practice experience encompasses representation of emerging-growth companies and mature businesses, principally in information technology, manufacturing and professional services sectors. A significant portion of his practice involves representation of advertising agencies, including some of Boston 's largest independently owned agencies, and software product developers, including application service providers.
Mr. Cygelman counsels his clients in all stages of their development: from initial organization of start-up ventures, including founder agreements, key employee equity incentive plans, and acquisition and protection of technology; through equity financings, strategic partnerships and other business transactions; and eventual merger and acquisition exit transactions. He also represents private investors at various financing rounds of emerging companies, as well as executives of private and publicly held companies in connection with stock option and other executive compensation strategies.
Mr. Cygelman received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his law degree, cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School and a Master's Degree in Tax Law from Boston University Graduate School of Taxation. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in Massachusetts , the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, and the United States Court of Claims.
Mr. Cygelman is actively involved in a number of MIT related activities, including the MIT Enterprise Forum and as a Pre-Law Advisor for MIT undergraduates.
